Petrify

The “Petrify” prototype, developed using Unreal Engine 5 and C++, explores a unique gameplay mechanic where the player can create a petrified version of their character at any time, capturing their current pose.

The petrified version has a rock material on it and it has a bigger mass compared to the character.

This mechanic can be used in a puzzle platformer game for example.

The prototype utilizes the Physical Animation Component to ensure that the controlled character’s limbs and body animate realistically and respond dynamically to environmental interactions, adding fun and realism to the gameplay.
